About

Welcome all to Masaka Eyes, Stephanie’s observations and reflections about her time in Uganda. This blog is an ongoing work, so check back or subscribe to RSS (http://masakaeyes.wordpress.com/feed/) to get updates. Actually, the title of this post should be ‘Muli Mutya?’ because the literal translation is ‘How are you?’ Amazingly, there isn’t a good translation for the English word ‘hello.’

All of Stephanie’s group emails are posted chronologically on the main page, with the most recent appearing first.

Thanks for coming!

They call me Nakirya. I belong to the clan of the Hippopotamus. I stay in Namaseenene Village in Uganda (about 20 miles south of the Equator). I am a student but here in Uganda I work for United for Development Initiative in Ssaza. I am happy that you have come to learn about my time in Uganda.

I am now back in the States, though I will continue posting realizations and observations.
